My name is Serhii, I am from the village of Vysoke near Merefa. At the beginning of the invasion, our community went through shelling together. It was frightening, but I joined a volunteer center - receiving humanitarian aid and delivering food to people. That was when I realized: when you help others, you become stronger yourself
Then another question arose - how to move forward and which profession to choose in order to be useful during the country’s recovery
I completed training within the PROFDIYA project - PROfessional Activity for Integration and Quality Growth. Today, I am a versatile specialist in the production and installation of window structures.
I can take measurements, calculate the structure, prepare a complete production drawing, manufacture a full structure of any shape, install it, and provide maintenance over time.
This is not just a job - it is a contribution to rebuilding destroyed homes and restoring people’s sense of home.
Today, I am already working in my profession. I earn an income, plan to start my own business, and stay in Ukraine because I want to build the future here. This project gave me not only skills - it restored my belief that it is possible to stand on my feet and be useful.
I know there are many people like me - people who need a chance, training, support, and an opportunity to work and rebuild the country with their own hands.
The PROFDIYA project, implemented with funding from Razom for Ukraine, is already changing lives - it changed mine.
