The Unity Platform NGO successfully implemented the project “Safe Space: Summer of Growth - Autumn of Adaptation”, aimed at providing psychosocial support and educational recovery for children and adults living under prolonged stress due to war.
Key Activities
The goal of the project was to create a safe, inclusive environment where children, adolescents, and parents could restore emotional stability, rebuild social connections, and regain motivation for learning.
Key activities included:
- Regular psychosocial support sessions for children, adolescents, and adults;
- Music therapy for emotional release and self-expression;
- Educational and creative activities such as storytelling, sand play, and interactive experiments;
- Parent support groups to strengthen family resilience and communication.
Impact and Results
The project exceeded its initial targets:
- 875 unique beneficiaries (planned: 650);
- 2,518 total attendances across all activities;
- Noticeable improvements in emotional stability, social skills, and learning motivation among children;
- The safe space became a community hub for growth, creativity, and recovery.
Sustainability
The model proved scalable and sustainable, inspiring further initiatives by Unity Platform NGO to expand psychosocial and educational support programs across Kharkiv region.
